A little about Music & Arts at Brews N Bytes Cafe & Eatery
Although we are known for our unique musical space, we encourage expression through various art forms.
We have had poetry readings, magic, seminars, and even Grammy nominated artists come through our
magic little stage. We are trying to keep live music happening in this little town of ours. We have, what
many would call, a perpetual open mic policy. With the exception of when a sceduled act is playing, we
encourage musicains, poets and other performance artists to get on up and strut their stuff. Our stage is
tiny, but potent.

It's hard enough to make a living as an artist! So we try to make it easy for you!

Unlike many other clubs, bars or restaurants in the region, we have a really small, cozy space and we intend to keep it that way! Our stage is a perfect fit for an
acoustic solo act or duo. Occasionally we can even fit a trio in here, without a big set of drums, of course!

We seat up to 40 people pretty comfortably. One thing that is for sure about BNB: Our customers appreciate the performing arts. No piss-drunk customers
requesting "Free Bird" and no restaurant owner trying to get you to play "muzak." Our in house PA system is the most acoustically thought out one in the entire
region. Perhaps this is because several of us here at BNB were formerly in the music business, working as singer/songwriter/performers, recording artists,
producers and engineers. We have several guitars, a bass, synth/keys, and congas/bongos and other assorted hand percussion available.

Music Compensation @ BNB
* Our music usually happens from 6:30-about 9:00 PM or so, and mostly on Fridays & Saturdays, but occasionally we do book acts during the week.
* A set is considered about 50 minutes. A compensated musician is expected to play two 50 minutes sets with a 20 minute break in between, unless
other arrangements have been made. Don't be shy! If you're a bit short on material we can work it out.

*Playing at Open Mic-No Compensation, per se, but maybe a coffee or a snack if you make us smile.
*Hosted Open Mic*-from $30-40 dollars + meal & beverage for the evening.
*A hosted Open Mic means that you as the musician are kind of like an emcee of the show. You are expected to perform also, but your main task is encouraging and
allowing any other musicians that are there for OPEN MIC to play. You are allowed to jam with them if they'd like, but only if it is requested by the other musician. We
try to keep OPEN MIC sets to about 20 minutes when others are waiting to get on stage. If there are no other acts waiting, they can play for a little while longer. If
there is no one in for OPEN MIC, then the host is expected to play.
*Regular Scheduled Musical Acts
*Solo Acoustic/Light Electric Musician- from $40-50 + meal and beverage for the night for two sets.
*Acoustic/Light Electric Duo or Trio- from $55-65 (duo) $65-75 (trio) + meals and beverages for the night for two sets. If your act draws more than average, I
usually throw in some extra cashola at the end.
*Higher Draw and Top Draw Acts- These are well known acts that can fill the joint or can sell out a dinner show. If you are coming through the area and
have a night open, talk to me, but keep in mind our size.
*Live Recordings @ Brews N Bytes- You are welcome to record your show with your equipment. We can feed a stereo line out of our mixer into your recorder.
